The first seating gets the attention. Second Seating fills the tables city’s best restaurants lose to last-minute cancellations or hyped restaurants that get the major share. When a reservation falls through, we send hungry diners to take its place, so the table earns tonight instead of sitting empty. Restaurants pay only for guests we actually seat. Diners pay nothing.
WHO WE ARE
our story
It's 8 p.m. on a Friday, and the restaurant everyone is talking about is booked solid for the next three weeks. You tried anyway. The host was kind, but the answer was no.
Two blocks away, a restaurant with the same spirit has a table for four sitting empty. Same regional cooking, same buzzing room, a chef just as serious about the food. Maybe a party cancelled. Maybe the crowd simply followed the hype down the street. Either way, nobody walking away from the first door knows the second one exists.
Second Seating was built to close that gap. We connect the guests a hyped restaurant has to turn away with the nearest place that matches its cuisine, its feel and its price, and has a seat ready right now. The overbooked restaurant sends its overflow somewhere good instead of sending people home. The neighbor fills a table that would have earned nothing tonight. And the diner, who was about to settle for takeout, ends up somewhere they'll want to come back to.
That is what our name means: a second choice that turns out to be nearly as good as the first, and sometimes better. Not every great night is planned. Some late decisions land you in the best places.
Second Seating was founded to serve the restaurants in New York City and New Jersey area. We work with restaurants across New York City and the surrounding area, from neighborhood favorites to busy multi-location groups. We are a small team on purpose. We believe a great restaurant should never have to watch a good table taste go to waste.
HOW IT WORKS
For Restaurants:
A table cancels/ doesn’t get reserved. A party drops out at the last minute.
You let us know. One quick system message tells us which table is open and when.
We send diners. We reach out to our community of diners and direct a group straight to your door.
They're seated. Our guests give the host a simple code, so you always know who came through us. They get one free mocktail/beverage per table.
You pay only for results. A small referral fee for each guest we seat, settled once a month. If we don't fill the table, you owe nothing.
No app, no subscription, no sign-up fee. Nothing to install and nothing to learn.
You stay in control. You choose which tables to release, and when.
Pay only when we deliver. A small fee per seated guest, plus a welcome drink from your menu on the house for them.
A new audience. Every diner we send is someone who might have never found you otherwise, and who may come back on their own.

Always free. You never pay us a thing.
A warm welcome. Mention our app generated code at the host stand and enjoy a drink on the house.
our PROMISE
We are not a reservation reseller, and we never will be. We don't hold tables, sell bookings or use bots to grab reservations. We never touch your reservation system.
We only fill tables a restaurant chooses to release to us, under a written agreement. Every guest we send walks in through the front door like anyone else and is welcomed on the restaurant's own terms
